Floor insulation

With floor insulation the installer fits insulation material against the underside of the ground floor, working from the crawl space. For wooden floors, insulation wool or foam between the joists is common; for concrete floors, boards or sprayed foam against the underside.

For an average home you pay € 1,200 to € 2,800, including labour and materials. The height and accessibility of the crawl space drive much of the price: in a roomy crawl space with a hatch the installer works quickly, in a low or partly filled space it goes slower. You notice the direct result at the floor itself: fewer cold feet and less cold rising from the crawl space.
