With an insulation survey an adviser walks through the home and uses a thermal-imaging camera to show where the heat escapes — facades, floor, gaps. You literally see which parts of the shell run cold on the outside and where insulating pays off most.
For a survey with thermal scan you pay € 95 to € 250, depending on the size of the home and the depth of the report. You receive an overview of the worthwhile measures in a logical order; many companies offset the survey fee against a follow-up job — ask about it.
A thermal scan works best in the heating season, when it is warm inside and cold outside — that is when the differences show up sharpest on the image.
